Twisted Sketches – Card Sketch #4 with a “button” twist
The latest Card Sketch (#4) went up last Saturday over at www.twistedsketches.com . The twist for this week’s card was BUTTONS….any how, or any way. I love buttons….I have hundreds of buttons….I use buttons all of the time! So I wanted to do something a little less obvious than just adding “buttons.”
So I pulled out my fabulous Martha Stewart embossing button punch and used it to make buttons….cut them in half…and added them as a scalloped border to the bottom of the card. I then stitched them on for a little extra dimension, texture, and detail.
This card was almost entirely made from gorgeous file folders that I found at the Dollar Tree. They had 3 different floral designs…all packaged in 3 files per pack…and each package for only a dollar. I cut the folder so that the scored edge was already made for the card…super easy.
I used a chipboard design for my border, and glued it down to another one of the floral file folder, then used my exacto knife to cut off the excess.
I then used one of my small CTMH files to file the edges.

Wow beautiful and so much fun ideas!
Nancy, the card is beautiful. I love the bright and vivid colors! : )
Gorgeous Card! I love that flourish across the middle. So beautiful! Genius idea with the button border. Thanks for playing along at Twisted Sketches. x
Those button scallops are the best! (At first I liked the chipboard swirl the most…………but those buttons are the hit!)
