CHUB – www.twistedsketches.com -sketch #43 w/twist of “pattern”
Here is my latest DT assignment sketch for www.twistedsketches.com – sketch #43 (freshly “live” over at the twisted sketches site) the “twist” to this sketch was PATTERN – any how or any way you interpret that!
We would love for you to play along!
My “pattern” twist to this layout is that I cut out the bracket 1/2 shape background in chipboard…then I traced it and cut about 5 layers out of an actual baby clothing pattern…I accented it with some pins on the far left side as “holding the pattern down” as you would a real pattern & fabric. I really wanted to go for a shabby chic feel here….used a lot of paint and ink and distressing… This is my little CHUB baby Elizabeth before she started shedding that juicy baby fat!
Product list here includes new Prima Flights of Fancy paper, new Prima fabric flowers, some old K & Co glittered sticker flowers I have had for awhile….various pom-pom trim of unknown brand, some new flourish stickers that I cannot find the packaging for to even let you know who makes them (if I find the package I will update this), raw heavy chipboard (love this stuff…bought it from Scrapbook.com in a bulk of 25 sheets of 12 x 12 at an extremely reasonable price….I had visions of creating my own chipboard shaped albums, alas, maybe one day
the chipboard is the foundation for the 1/2 bracket shape in which I covered with the clothing pattern (hence, the twist
, fabric pins of unknown brand, Bazzill cardstock in color “Atlantic” -side note…interestingly enough…my mother and my sister thought that this paper was white and that I had painted it the blue, instead of the other way around…using Plaid acrylic paint in Wicker White, Jamaican Sea & Delta Dreamcoat paint in Chamomile and Pink Silk. I used 3 different sized hole punches to do the edge distressing…love the look of this distressing technique! The clear buttons (if you can see them) are from CTMH. The pink “bling” trim is from Anna Griffin. The small little pink rose buttons are of unknown brand, as are the crystal-looking leaves wrapped around the flower clusters – those I got in one of my monthly kits from www.swirlydoos.com ! I fear that I am leaving something or a lot of things out of this list….but I’ll just have to update if something else leaps out at me!
I am including some up-close detailed photos of this layout below! TFL!
