Butterflies – Make Your Life Great – Scraps of Darkness Jan (Escape) & Feb (Victoriana) kits

This is a 16 x 20 canvas piece that I created using my January “Escape” kit and February “Victoriana” kit from www.scrapsofdarkness.com ! I really LOVE butterfly boards and have been wanting to create one for quite some time….my ultimate inspiration for this creation was this image here:

I was inspired by this page in the latest issue of ScrapbooksEtc magazine (April 2012 edition.)

and here is my creation:

I am planning on doing a basic video tutorial on the creation of this project just as soon as I can fit it into my LIFE.  🙂  This is my birthday weekend…and I have some Birthday Plans 🙂 So hopefully,  at the latest, this up-coming week!

In the meantime, here are some up-close photos….this project has A LOT of dimension that just doesn’t come through on this presentation photo!

Above photo taken in some in-direct sun-light.

for a complete list of supplies on the Scraps of Darkness kits click HERE.  Other supplies used here are:

ModPodge matte, Butterly Rub-Ons from Hobby Lobby, AdTech Glue gun and extra long glue sticks, Plaid acrylic paint in various colors, bubble wrap, shelf liner, tons of various stamps,  Staz-on black ink pad. various colored ink pads from Close T0 My Heart, color-box chalk ink, printed sticker words from the Girls Paperie.

TFL! and I hope I have inspired you to create something today! and BTW, I think this looks AMAZING in my Den/Playroom! 🙂

Wow Nancy! This is so fancy, I need to come by and see this in person! I love the botanical look on the cards and the dimensional butterflies on top. The assorted stick pins look so cool too, I had to sit and admire every single inch of this! Perfection!

I love this and I am getting into altered art, but definitely need instructions. I love looking at your work as I might actually become creative…. though I have my doubts. Thanks for sharing.
