How Do You Like Them Apples? – Scraps of Darkness August’s “Envy” kit

So, Saylor asked me why I am always doing layouts of Lizzie (aka Elizabeth) 🙂 So this one is for you Saylor!  See the versatility of this amazing kit…be sure and get over and check out this uniquely different monthly scrapbooking kit club…at www.scrapsofdarkness.com !

This is my little man at just about 18 months…..he has ALWAYS been a tall kid for his age…what could I expect…He was 10 lbs 10 oz AND 10 days early…MY PERFECT TEN! He is now 6 yo…about to start the 1st grade…and looks like a 3rd grader!

The gears used here are from Dusty Attic….I used a lot of Tim Holtz distress Ink, the chalk ink that came in this month’s kit at www.scrapsofdarkness.com , which was the perfect green, Tim Holtz distress crackle paint in a green color … went over it again with some darker Tim Hotz distress ink, and voila! I personally think that the key looks like rusted metal….check out the up-close photo and decide for yourself.  I got the Dusty Attic chipboard gear piece through www.scrapsofdarkness.com ! LOVE their stuff!

Here are some up-close photos:

I used some hemp rope that I got at Walmart to make the circles…love the texture!

The key with the gears is from ScrapFX and was also purchased through the “shoppe” over at www.scrapsofdarkness.com . I used the same painting and inking technique as mentioned above.  The alphas are from The Girls Paperie…Halloween edition.

Look at the inking/paint technique….love love love it!!!! Doesn’t it look like rusted metal?!

Above is the “crackle” finish of the Tim Holtz distress crackle paints! You ROCK Mr. Holtz! 🙂

The alpha letters of “Apples” were from a previous kit at www.scrapsofdarkness.com and are from the rockin’ Tim Holtz! 🙂

TFL my friends! at least I hope you can see this….because I am hoping my blog troubles are behind me! 🙂 HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!!

What a handsome little guy! How cute is Mr. Saylor in this photo. 🙂 I am glad to see you scrapping some layouts of him too, that is exactly what Jack would be doing to me….why Sam and not me? They are smart cookies you know, they watch every thing we do.

As for the layout, perfection. I am loving all the Tim Holtz products and techniques you did with the painting and distressing. Such a wonderfully masculine layout. TFS!

So sweet. Like all the stitching around the paper blocks.

I agree with Saylor, more boy pages. This one is wonderful. I love the color scheme. Great idea Nancy.

Yes the more “masculine” layout is every bit as unique as the more frilly ones are…
