To My Valentines – twisted sketch #36 (twist:pens, pencils, markers)
www.twistedsketches.com Here is the latest twisted sketch #36 with the twist being “pens, pencils, markers” any how…anyway. For the twist…I used a black colored pencil to highlight the background notes, used pen and pink colored pencils on the square border, used pink marker and outlined with pen around the circle and around the beige paper, I drew the “Hugs & Kisses” part of the title with my black Precise pen, traced around Prima chipboard letters and doodled the paper for the “valentine”, used pink colored pencil to color the hearts on the bg paper, colored in the center stitched flourish with pencils and pen, & highlighted all of the butterflies with pen.
Here are my 3 valentines! Saylor, Daniel, and Elizabeth. What I love about twisted sketches is that it gets me doing techniques that I normally do not do…in this case…I used a lot of colored pencils, markers, pens….doodling….stuff I don’t normally do on my layouts…! it is so much fun!
I used the Smitten paper from K & Co here; pink carnation, shell pink, and black colored pencils are all from CTMH as well as Watermelon pink marker, black and red cardstock used to mat the titles & the small distressing files used on the titles; the heart cupcake toothpicks I picked up today on clearance at W – Walton brand; Hambly lace transparency on the side of the 3 photos, Anna Griffin paper (beige paper in the middle) and flower transparency in the circle bg area; I also used Prima Times Chipboard Alphbet small letters to overlap, then trace for the “valentines” section of the title; also in the title are reverse black miniature Jenni Bowlin stickers & Paper Studio white CS sticker alphabet; For the Hugs & Kisses title work…I used an acrylic stampology stamp for my inspiration…using my Precise VS pen (undoubtably the most used product in making this layout); the stitched flourish was made using a flourish stitch template from Oriental Trading Co…I was rather impressed with this template even though it is made out of incredibly flimsy plastic (let’s just say I had my doubts); the trim is from Making Memories “love notes”‘ and other misc includes, Tombo permanent adhesive runner, Timeless touches corkboard and paper piercer, green pom-pom trim & red rickrack of unknown brand, black sharpie marker, Janlynn embroidery floss, adhesive pearls and hearts are unknown brand, EK Success 3-D pop dots, and my handy-dandy Xacto knife! couldn’t live without that!

If you haven’t already…come check out www.twistedsketches.com ran by Prima & My Mind’s Eye’s own Anam Stubbington…such a talented lady! TFL everyone!!!

I really love the paper you used on this one, and not just because of the name (although I am “Smitten” too)!
I also like the font for “hugs & kisses” as well as the treatment you added to “Valentines.” I just have to say though, the pictures look like we all just woke up from naps!
Very lovely, so much to enjoy on this Layout!
Thanks for the lovely comment you leave on my page.
And WOW! This page ROCKS!!! The hearts near the titles are wonderful, and you did an amazing work with pen, pencil & markers
Ciao!
