Curly Girl – Happy Birthday to my dear cousin, AMY! :)
I have this friend….one of those friends that really “knows you”….a confidante….someone who lives a “parallel life” to you, and just KNOWS what you are going through. She also happens to be my 1st cousin. Her name is AMY and we share A LOT in common….we both ‘got’ the naturally curly hair, big green eyes, & flat feet…of all genetic things
We have ALWAYS been close, and really she is more like a sister to me. She is incredibly artistically talented…and amazes me everyday with her work and her ability to make ART more than just a hobby. Do me a favor and check out her AMAZING work HERE! Well….she recently had a very special birthday….and I really wanted to make her something extra-special….and so I made her a “She Art” girl:
I bought this canvas for dirt cheap at our local Salvation Army (my “own” way of recycling)
I used some DCWV paper…..tons of acrylic stamps from: Prima, CTMH, & Glitz Designs for the background texture….the flower in her hair is Prima…and it was hand-picked by my baby Elizabeth.
The title lettering is from October Afternoon and 7 Gypsies. The black bling is from Prima…and their are a ton of rub-ons that I just couldn’t keep up with. I also used a Tim Holtz mask here. Here are some up-close photos:
Happy Birthday AMY! Love you!!!!

This is such a cute project! Love it!
This has to be the most touching post I have ever read on any blog, ever!
Ha ha! Anyways, I formally want to thank you for this masterpiece Nancy. You know I will cherish it forever, as will my boys. Thanks for all the sweet words, you know you truly mean the world to me as well…even if you have curly hair and flat feet!
I know, I know….me too…
I love you!
Amy
