I wanted to share the up-close photos of the first 4 layouts I created with Scraps of Darkness October “All Hallow’s Eve” kit, before I share my latest projects….so all together now..here we go:
first up is the LOVE layout…I created this for a friend…using her wedding invitation…. here are the up-close photos and details:
I layered one of the gorgeous hand-made butterflies that Renea aka Reneabouquets made for me in the last swap over at www.scrapsofdarkness.com over the large butterfly. Thank you Renea…those butterflies are truly dazzling!
Above you can see part of the hand-stitched flourishes I created on the page…I was going for a doodled/barbed-wire look for these flourishes. Below is another flourish up on the top right corner of the layout.
next we have the SoulLess layout which was created for the title challenge over at www.scrapsofdarkness.com – the challenge was to use SoulLess as the complete title…and when I found this image on the internet…well…it looked totally soul-less to me!
I double-printed the image so that I could tear out and curl up the edges of the eye…see below
This amazing Prima bat vine came in the Romance kit this month at www.scrapsofdarkness.com – and it was perfect for this.
I curled up the end of the Prima bat vine to create a “serpent” ! a detail that easily goes unnoticed…(exactly why I like to share the close-up details. 🙂
above you can see where I hand-stitched together two of the border die-cut punch-outs from the kit! and at the very, very bottom (and also at the very top) are the awesome “grunge” sticks that Mandy aka Craftysprinkles so generously made and sent to me! I thought they were PERFECT for this!
The next layout is: You’re A Star Saylor!
This amazing photo was taken by a family friend (she can be found on facebook under Tiffany Roberts Photography).
The stars were created with some of my acrylic Close To My Heart stamps. The gears and barbed wire chipboard pieces are from Dusty Attic and I acquired them through the Scraps of Darkness Shoppe.
and now for The Hanttula Matrix layout:
This is a photo of hubby and I – Halloween 2003. As “simple” as this layout may appear….simple layouts tend to take me the most time to complete….go figure. I used rub-ons, masking, inking and distressing, and of course STITCHING.
Thanks for taking a closer peek! I hope something here has inspired you to create! and stay tuned….I will be celebrating the 2nd anniversary of my blog …and plan on having another blog give-away….I will be giving away another Cricut cartridge….so if you have a Cricut and would like a chance to win….be sure and check back !
Happy Sunday my friend! and Happy Halloween EVE!
