It is Wednesday again…and the Scraps of Darkness’ Design Team is being featured again over at The Robin’s Nest ! This week features my lovely Design Team sisters Mandy and Cheryl! Beautiful work ladies! Be sure and get over to The Robin’s Nest store to see the gorgeous papers and embellishments they have for you!!!!
I created this mixed media project to hang in my family/playroom. Created on a 15 x 20 canvas panel, all of the paper used on this was from one or another Scraps of Darkness kit. To see this amazing monthly scrapbook kit club, be sure to visit www.scrapsofdarkness.com – it is unique, it is different, it is AMAZING. Be sure and join the forum….talk about an inspirational, family-like atmosphere! and all new-comers are welcomed with open arms!!!
I used a ton of stamps and rub-ons from my entire stash to use for detailed texture throughout this piece. Here are some up-close photos:
I used ModPodge throughout this piece…but on the end of the tree, I left the ends of the branches/twigs in order to be able to add a little more dimension….I am ALL ABOUT dimension!
I used Prima bling for the smoke!
I used Tim Holtz hole reinforcers for the centers of my little flowers above.
TFL my friends! I hope something here has inspired you to CREATE!
As you may or may not know….Scraps of Darkness’ August “Envy” kit was full of goreous, vibrant papers from The Robin’s Nest. Well…guess what, they are running a feature on their blog on the work our Design Team did with their exquisite papers every Wednesday for the next month… Be sure and get over there to check it out! How super exciting….and thanx fellow DT-sista Lisa for all the tenacity and gumption she brings to our table…. We are sooo lucky to have her…so be sure and get over to her blog and thank her too! 🙂
The last layout I created with the amazing September “Passages” kit from www.scrapsofdarkness.com for now! There will be more as I have a ton of paper and embellishments left!
Yeah…that is me…in Kindergarten! Saylor swears it is his baby sister Lizzie though…but I think my hair was a bit curlier! 🙂
here are some up-close photos:
I would like to also mention that I used a Martha Stewart (EK Success) laser-cut paper for the masking on this…along with red Colorbox Chalk ink…the script alphabet rub-ons are from BoBunny.
TFL my friends…this is all I have to share for the moment….whew!? Huh? 🙂 Wishing all a GREAT WEEKEND!
I had a lot of fun with this next page using the latest and greatest September Passages kit from www.scrapsofdarkness.com ! Be sure and get over there and check it out!!!!
I love this photo….It is a picture of my husband’s brother and as my kiddos would say, “Uncle Mike!” In the reflection of his sunglasses is my husband. Taken at a cousin’s wedding in a valley of a mountain top in Alburquerque, New Mexico…you can vaguely make out the the chairs of the wedding guests in the background (of the reflection that is!)
I absolutely LOVE and ADORE the BoBunny rub-ons included in this month’s amazing kit at www.scrapsofdarkness.com …it includes that awesome looking masking tape I added to the corner and bottom of the photo… as well as the coffee stains…which btw is impressed upon the cork coaster (which was in the kit…how fab is that!) I have to add here that I used the Prima brick acrylic stamp on the cork, along with some Black Staz-on ink…and it worked amazingly well!
Here are some up-close photos:
I doodled on the chipboard BoBunny alphas and flourishes on this! TFL my friends!!!!

“I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
~ Robert Frost ~

Here is the layout that I created for the August Round Robin challenge over at www.scrapsofdarkness.com – I used my gorgeous August “ENVY” kit from www.scrapsofdarkness.com for this layout!!! Be sure and get over there and check out this amazing and unique monthly scrapbooking kit club! This kit club never ceases to impress…..always including the unique embellishments and papers that always INSPIRE! and don’t forget to join the site’s forum….talk about one fun bunch of sassy and creative group of ladies….they never fail to make me smile and laugh! Come join us! You will love it there! I promise!
I love the Round Robin challenges over at www.scrapsofdarkness.com – This is only my 2nd time joining in….but it is highly addictive and fun! If you haven’t ever joined in on one of these…basically you are put onto “teams” – say of about 4 members each. Then everyone is assigned a particular week….1 out of 4….for example….I join the Round Robin….I am assigned to the 3rd week…my friend Lisa is assigned the 1st…etc. The person assigned for the 1st week simply creates an original layout…that’s it…no big surprises. The person assigned to week 2 takes the layout that Lisa, or whomever is assigned to create the 1st week’s layout, and scrap-lifts it. The 3rd week person then scraplifts the 2nd person’s layout…and the 4th person scraplifts the 3rd week’s layout. It is fun to see how the original design evolves over the course of 4 weeks! It’s a blast…and anyone and everyone can join in….we just make more “teams.” So, please come over and join in….you will love it!
Here are some up-close, detailed photos of my interpretation of this Round Robin challenge….I was week #4 this go-round.
