Here is the latest sketch over at www.twistedsketches.com . This week’s twist was “NEW” – any how or any way that inspires you! We would love for you to come over and join in the fun! You can find a link to the sketch here. All you have to do is upload a link to the layout under the comment section of the actual sketch you worked on – in this case under Sketch #51.
I know this newborn photo of Saylor is a little on the obvious side when it comes to the “NEW” twist to this layout….but it doesn’t take a lot for me to be inspired to scrap photos of my babies when they were brand new.
My Perfect 10 – Saylor was 10 days early, 10 lbs and 10 ounces – aka a “Whopper” 🙂
Supplies for this layout include: Imaginisce’s Teacher’s Pet/Number Cruncher paper, Studio Calico’s Lithograph, and Cosmo Cricket for the background (My Boyfriend collection.) Used some of my thickers for “Whopper” – the “my” is Paper Studio’s alphabet chipboard letters – the “10” is plastic house numbers I bought in the home section of W – used my clear Dymo tape label maker – used my EK Success Apron and scalloped circle punches – chipboard circle & stars, and the felt accent pieces are all from CTMH- Janlynn embroidery floss – and various buttons, pins, and brown trim from my stash.
TFL! and I appreciate all comments!
Well…I am now caught up with all of the twisted card sketches over at www.twistedsketches.com ! Every Saturday the latest card sketch and all the Design Team’s inspiration gets posted! This week’s card sketch #8 had the twist of “alpha” any how or any way that inspires you to create. I immediately thought of all my alphabet stickers…what a great way to use up some of my stash (another mid-year resolution!) You can find the latest sketch here!
Cannot get much easier than this! All of the alphabet stickers here (the dotted as well as the black) were off of an old Doodlebug Design’s “Party Mix” alphabet sticker sheet. Added some red Prima brads, some ribbon from my stash, and basic white cardstock from CTMH. What an easy and fast way to whip up a card!
Running a little behind on my twisted card sketches…so as I wait for my next DT project to go live…I thought I would try and catch-up. I have something really special planned for all of these cards…I’m just not ready to let you in on my secret yet! 🙂
This is Twisted Card sketch #7 – the twist for this card was “black & white” – so I used some fun Love Elsie paper and a Colorbok sticky border stax for this one. Made a small medallion and hot-glued the sentiment (used another Colorbok journaling spot.) You can find the link for this sketch here .
The next Twisted Sketches card is #6 with the twist of “WORD.”
This was a fun one to do. Paper here is My Mind’s Eye. I also used Colorbok Sticky Border Stax, Prima flowers, black Sharpie marker, CTMH paper piercer, Chipboard letters from Paper Studio, Making Memories shimmer black flourishes, and pin/buttons from Generation T. I made this for my graduating niece. You can find the link for this sketch here.
And lastly, here is Twisted Card sketch #5 with the twist of Ribbon. When I saw this sketch I immediately thought of a birthday present wrapped in ribbon.
I used glossy paper from a Specialty Paper Pack from Best Occassions, again used some of the Colorbok Sticky Border Stax, Paper Studio Chipboard letters, small black adhesive dots from SEI, pink/green ribbon from my stash.
You can find the link for this Twisted Card sketch here.
Well…here is my latest DT assignment…now live over at www.twistedsketches.com ! The “twist” for this week’s sketch is COLOR, any how, any way that inspires you. Please come over and join in. Post a link to your layout under the comment section to join in the challenge!
I had a lot of fun with this sketch and “twist.” Of course, I find myself saying that with every sketch…but it is true!
I used my square 1 7/8th inch punch from the Paper Studio to punch out the blocks of paper…glued them down then hand-stitched the blocks down in a patch-work design. This would be a great way to use up scraps!
The paper here is mostly from several of my Scarlet Lime kits & they include: Glitz Design: Olivia Roses; Lilybeedesign: Savannah, Twirl, Fly a Kite, & Hello Sunshine posies; Studio Calico: Lithograph; Kaisercraft: Devonshire Collection/Victorian Rose; the Green patterned paper is a Scarlet Lime exclusive paper; Cosmo Cricket: material girl; and Teresa Collins: Mr & Mrs Damask paper. Other paper used here and not in my Scarlet Kits include: Close to My Heart orange paper from Felicity Collection & the background paper is from My Mind’s Eye: Love Me Do.
Other products used for this include: Chipboard multi-colored letters from the Paper Studio; Self-Adhesive Die-cut circle stickers from Rimenisce, Bazzill’s Just the Edge banner; CTMH chipboard circles; Buttons from my Scarlet Lime kits, and flowers from Sassafras Lass.
This looks simple enough…but I won’t lie…the hand-stitching took AGES (see the picture of the back of the layout below)… I wanted to give it a machine-stitch look.
Here are a few up-close detailed photos.
